Sunshine

He was standing outside the library where both had been studying.

She had carefully put her hat on, covering all her hair and only some curls escaped from it. It had not been a great work, since she always wore the hats as they fell on her head. But, for some reason, that time it had fallen better. She was looking up the bluest sky, not even a cotton-like cloud was crossing it. The floor was covered by brown-yellowish leaves and she felt like running towards them and make them fly again. As when she was a child and used to run through the piles of leaves with her brother.
She looked at him again, so concentrated organizing all his stuff. Took a deep breath; it was time; she had waited enough.

From behind the massive white building, she saw the sun hanging from the sky. Even it was a cold day, it warmed her up and felt its energy running by her veins. It has been so long since she had not felt the same. She smiled to herself and kept walking. She passed by an empty bench, she looked at it just a second, and even knowing it was getting late, sat. She left her bag by her side, stared directly to the sun and closed her eyes.

From the corner of his eyes, he saw her leaving. He had been doing lots of stupid things, trying to be really busy just to see where she was heading to. Finally she had left. Lucky him, she went towards the same direction he was supposed to. He came into the sunlight and felt the sun warming him up. He thought of putting the sunglasses on, but is was such a shame that he dismissed the option straight away. For some reason he did not really understand, she suddenly stopped in front of a bench and sat down. Was she starting at the sun? He had no other option than passing in front of her, and so he did.

His steps crushed the leaves from the floor when he was passing by and she opened the eyes half scared looking for the origin of the noise. And their eyes met. But she lowed her sight as if she had just remembered she had forgotten something in her bag and he muttered a simple sorry and walked away.

Still sitting on the bench, she saw him leaving; she felt the blood leaving her red face and closed her eyes just a moment to see him once again. Then, stood up and started walking again.

And he walked as fast as his legs allowed him, as if needing to scape from her. And when he felt he was far enough, he stopped and turn back, looking for her. But she was gone.
